Episode 1

Yo-kai Watch Episode 1 originally aired on January 8, 2014. It aired in North America on October 5, 2015. It has two segments.

Yo-kai are Real! (Japanese: 妖怪がいる! Yōkai ga Iru!)

Nate, Bear and Eddie are looking for beetles in the woods with Katie joining soon after. After Nate was teased for catching an average sized beetle, he decides to venture further into the woods to find a bigger bug. He soon finds a capsule machine that persuades him to buy a capsule and he releases a ghostly spirit named Whisper who thanks Nate for freeing him. Nate doesn't seem to be too phased by this as he's already trying to find more beetles while Whisper was explaining how he got into the capsule machine in the first place. After some bickering, Whisper tells Nate that he is now his butler as a reward for him freeing him. He tries to help Nate catch some beetles but after seeing how incompetent Whisper is, Nate just gives up. Whisper then follows Nate back to his house.
